As you begin to upgrade your car's power as well as subject it to more performance orientated driving you may find the need to upgrade your clutch. Choosing the right clutch is important not only because it effects how much power your drivetrain can put to the wheels, different clutches have different pedal feel and engagement characteristics. From our experience here at Battle Garage, we would highly suggest staying with a sprung disk type or 6-puck clutch for a street car for the comfort as well as predictable release characteristics. Exedy Oem Replacement Clutch kit: Exedy has created an economical direct replacement for your old worn out clutch. This clutch will have the same tolerances as your old clutch and should have the same or better pedal-feel. This should be the no-brainer choice if you are running a stock engine on a street car.

Exedy Organic Stage 1 Clutch kit: A high quality OEM replacement clutch with slightly higher load tolerances. Should be the same if not better clutch feel than stock and is rated for 196 ft/lbs of torque. Battle Garage has used a similar clutch on our own FC3S track car with stock power output driven to and from events. The clutch was taken out and examined after approximated 5000 miles of extensive use including a healthy dose of clutch-kicking and hard launches. The friction surface still looked to be in perfect condition aside from several heat marks typical of performance driving. We would highly recommend this clutch for slightly-upgraded cars that will be used for performance driving.

When installing your clutch, you should also inspect your clutch throwout bearing as well as your pilot/spigot bearing. Both of these items are typically worn and should be replaced to insure the longevity of your drivetrain.

AE92/AE101/AE111 engines all use a 212mm clutches while AE86/AW11 engines use a 200mm clutch, please select the appropriate option when adding to cart.
