During aggressive driving or track sessions, reduced radiator airflow and high RPMs cause significant heat buildup in the engine oil. By adding an external oil cooler, this Mishimoto kit removes excess heat from the oil system, lessening the thermal load on the coolant and maintaining consistent oil viscosity under extreme conditions. The thermostatic version isolates the oil and coolant systems for greater reliability, while the non-thermostatic variant retains the OEM liquid-to-liquid cooler for faster warm-up—giving enthusiasts options based on their driving style.
