The main benefit of a lightweight flywheel is that it will improve engine response. It won't increase horsepower or torque output, but the lighter weight means it has a lower moment of inertia (MOI), which means it's less resistant to rotational changes. And this basically translates to a faster climb and drop in the RPM, making the engine feel more responsive to throttle input.

This is an excellent upgrade if you're in the process of repairing or rebuilding the transmission in your 86, FR-S, or BRZ. Transmission parts are costly and time-consuming to replace, so you might as well upgrade as many as you can. It's also SFI 1.1 certified, so EXEDY assures that it's safe for motorsport usage.
