OVERVIEW

The ARP Pro Series Head Stud Kit replaces the factory torque-to-yield head bolts on the Subaru FA20 engine with reusable ARP2000 studs. Studs give more consistent clamping force than bolts and reduce thread wear in the aluminum block. That helps keep the head gasket sealed on boosted, high-compression or high-RPM builds. It is a common upgrade any time the cylinder heads come off.


FEATURES

  • ARP2000 Material: Rated at 220,000 psi tensile strength, much stronger than the factory torque-to-yield bolts.
  • Reusable: Unlike the factory bolts, which have to be replaced every time the heads come off, these studs can be reused.
  • Consistent Clamping Load: The studs thread into the block hand tight and all torque is applied at the nut, so the clamping load is more even and the block threads see less wear.
  • Rolled Threads: Threads are rolled after heat treatment for better fatigue resistance.
  • Parallel-Ground Washers: Hardened washers spread the load evenly on the cylinder head.
  • Direct Replacement: No machining or head modification required.
